Benevolent Living, CEO, Alison Moss is celebrating 20 years of dedicated service to the seniors of Central QLD.
After starting her career as the Quality Officer and Admissions Officer at the then Benevolent Home, Ms Moss was promoted into the CEO role after Lyn McLean retired. Interestingly, in the 155-year history of Benevolent Society there has always been a female director leading the organisation, and they have all stayed for more than a decade in the role.
Ms Moss has had a very successful career in aged care and has led numerous strategic initiatives. Including the transition from hostel accommodation to the now modern aged care facilities onsite.
Ms Moss was instrumental in the development of the Jim McRae and Mardy McKean Houses – 36 private rooms with ensuite, community garden and communal areas. However, her legacy project to both Benevolent Living and the CQ community is the new ‘Rhythms of Life’ community currently in construction at the 60 West St site.
The multi-stage project is a $47M redevelopment of the current site to include a new residential care building (36 suites and 1-bedroom apartments) and the regions first vertical retirement village (40 two- and three-bedroom independent living apartments). The new community will also include a Café, Art Gallery, Artist Workshop, Cinema, Chapel, Gym, and community amenities for the public to access.
“Alison has led the strategic vision of Benevolent over her two-decade career and has been instrumental in ensuring the organisations viability and ultimately the ongoing success of the business,” says Chairman Kevin Hogan.
“Today we are able to deliver exceptional care and services and a legacy project to the region thanks to her continued strategic and innovative leadership. We want to extend our sincerest thanks to her for her continued dedication to our residents and this community.”
Ms Moss begun her first role at Benevolent on the 17th of September 2001 and celebrated her 20th anniversary on Friday the 17th of September 2021 with staff, residents, families, the board.
