Expressions of Interest - Care Quality Advisory Chair Position –

Residential Aged Care


The Position

Benevolent Living seek an experienced Care Governance professional (preferably with current or recent Aged Care experience) who has a passion to make a tangible difference in a regional aged care service.  The role includes:-

  1. Chairing the Advisory Body (biannual meetings either held locally or virtually);

  2. Complete a review of, and provide independent feedback and recommendations to Board (via a written report) on the quality of care and services provided to our residents;

  3. Conduct an annual review of the advisory body functions against objectives.


The Organisation


Benevolent Living is a regional, Profit for Purpose, community owned organisation located in Rockhampton, Central Queensland.  We have only one site, with 138 residential aged care beds and a co-located retirement village. The organisation has unblemished track record for compliance with all legislation, including the Quality Aged Care Standards.  Our organisation and leadership team are committed to best practice care governance, the use of data to facilitate continuous improvements, staff professional development, system improvement and customer satisfaction.


Purpose of Care Quality Advisor Body

 

The Benevolent Aged Care Board has established a Care Quality Advisory Body (CQAB)  as a forum to provide advice regarding its care quality governance functions. The CQAB will consider information and provide independent advice to the Benevolent Living Board on matters relating to care quality and shall be relatively independent from the organisation. 

 

Scope of Committee

 

The scope of the CQAB will be in accordance with its obligations under the Accountability Principles 2014 in relation to its reporting to the governing body on the quality of care and services, including but not limited to the following:

1.         Feedback and complaints

2.         Performance against the Aged Care Quality Standards

3.         Quality improvement.

4.         The sufficiency of allied health practitioners and registered nurses.

5.         Staff turnover

6.         Reportable incidents as defined under the Aged Care Act 1997

7.         The quality of food and catering services.

The CQAB is an advisory body – it does not have decision making authority

 

Remuneration:-

This is a remunerated role.  Interested parties should submit a contracted fee rate as part of the EOI.
